Sweet Sunny South is an acoustic old-time bluegrass band based in Paonia, (Western) Colorado. The group has performed extensively throughout the West and has a reputation of lively stage shows and fine songwriting. At their concerts youll find them weaving in and out around a single microphone and dressed to a T, reminiscent of a bygone era. They escort the listeners down a windy path of historical journeys, beautiful ballads and rollicking fiddle tunes complete with a healthy dose of humor that keeps folks smiling.

SSS was chosen as an OFFICIAL SHOWCASE BAND of the 2006 IBMA WORLD OF BLUEGRASS CONFERENCE - one of 13 unsigned bands chosen from around the known universe. They have delighted crowds at many fine festivals throughout the Southwest and placed in the prestigious RockyGrass band contest in both 2003 & 2004. Bell Creek Dance Club, the groups first CD is a collections of songs and memories of a dance spot popular in their home town during the 30s & 40s. It's a regional favorite and caught the eye of "Bluegrass Now", "Dirty Linen" and other publications. Their second album, Wild-n-Swingin includes producer Mark Nanni sitting in a bit on the Accordian. Summer 06 brought the release of their first live CD "Live from the Radio Room" recorded in Grand Junction. The 4th releasse, "SHOWTIME" was produced by Aaron Youngberg (Hit & Run, The Billy Pilgrims) with more original songs per capita then it's predecessors.

The group is taking the remainder of '08 off but will be back performing in 2009.
